ABOUT
The Global Organic Textile Standard (“GOTS”) was established in 2006 to identify best practice requirements for ecological and labour conditions for the textile and apparel industry.
PROTECTING PEOPLE AND PLANET
GOTS prohibits the use of the type of chemicals commonly used in textiles processing that present risks of serious illnesses to exposed workers.
CREATING SOCIAL CHANGE
GOTS uses guidelines of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to ban child and forced labour and to ensure workers have the rights they deserve.
SEEK TRANSPARENCY
Companies seeking certification to GOTS need to provide transparency into their supply chains, something that the textile and apparel industry is often unwilling to do.
THE PROBLEM
77 MILLION AGRICULTURE WORKERS GLOBALLY SUFFER POISONING FROM PESTICIDES EACH YEAR
OUR PROMISE
The process for GOTS certification is rigorous – we know because we've completed our certification journey (CU1133274).
